Video Game Industry New for January 2022

  • In-person E3 cancelled for 2022. The ESA announced that the in-person E3 would be canceled for 2022,  but  plans  for  an  online  presentation  were  still  moving forward.  (IGN.com)
  • Sony buying Bungie. Sony announced that it would be acquiring Bungie for $3.6 billion. The acquisition would give Sony control of the Destiny franchise. (GamesIndusry.Biz)

Major Video Game Announcements and Releases for January 2022

  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released for the Nintendo Switch. The latest installment in the Pokémon franchise was met with positive reviews, with critics praising its open-world design and its new gameplay mechanics.  (Pokemon.com)
