The coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns caused a video game surge in America. And even though we’re returning to pre-pandemic activities, Americans are still keeping their focus on video games. So it’s no surprise that Netflix, Zoom and Peloton (yes, exercise bikes) are pushing into the video game industry.

As Netflix’s performance slows but video games continue to surge, Netflix announced that they will begin offering video games through their streaming service at no additional charge. Details are scarce, but Netflix will develop these games themselves (AP).

As Zoom comes out of its 2021 fiscal year with over 300% gain (Zoom), they released 9 games that can be played from within Zoom (GAMERANT). Perhaps its a way to stay relevant as most people return to the office.

Meanwhile, exercise bike manufacture Pelton announced its entrance into the video game industry with a game called “Lanebreak” (Verge).
